Center for Business Innovation, Entrepreneurialism, and Management (CBEM)

The Center for Business, Management, and Entrepreneurialism (CBEM) at National University aims to bring together entrepreneurs, students, and faculty. CBEM provides a forum to inform, support, and inspire individuals to be entrepreneurs and seek opportunities through enterprise, product, or service creation.

The center enables and empowers NU students and local community members to cultivate the skills, strategies, and innovation required for business development and boosting local industries. CBEM is focused on student-driven learning, cutting-edge technology, and multidisciplinary opportunities that allow professionals to become successful entrepreneurs.

CBEM Launchpad December 2024

December 6th - 7th  2024

What is Business Launchpad?

An intensive training program designed to equip participants with the necessary skills to develop, market and grow their own businesses.

Who is the audience?

All aspiring or seasoned entrepreneurs looking for guidance and support to grow their business.

Is there a cost?

With the generous support from NU and the College of Business, Engineering and Technology, this Launchpad is being offered for free! Don’t miss it by registering asap!

Pitch Contest November 2024

The next Pitch Contest aims to encourage entrepreneurs in all stages of business concepts to participate. This competition is an excellent opportunity to pitch business concepts to a panel of judges with a chance to win financial funding for your business.

Who should participate?

  • Individuals with an idea to start a business

  • Individuals who have created a company

  • Individuals interested in enhancing their presentation skills

  • Individuals who want to explore the idea of starting a company

Ideas presented may be at any stage, and the preliminary competition is split into two groups:

  • Group 1 – Preliminary: Concepts that are in the idea stage – with no revenues, prototypes, or products.

  • Group 2 – Preliminary: Concepts that are beyond the idea stage – with revenues, prototypes, or products.

After individuals advance through preliminary rounds, there will be a semi-final competition and the winners of the semi-final rounds will present at next year’s National University’s Symposium.

Funding Awards:

First Place: $1,000

Second Place: $500

Third Place: $ 250
